Jeannette was born in Toronto and grew up in the inner-city neighbourhood of Dovercourt & Parkdale. She has lived in Mississauga-Erin Mills for the last nine years. She received a scholarship to the University of Toronto where she obtained undergraduate degrees in Microbiology and in Electrical Engineering. She later obtained an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University.
She has over 20 years of business and community experience with companies such as Bell Canada and Professional Engineers Ontario, including the last four as Manager of Student and Government Liaison Programs for the latter where she oversees province-wide programs with 16 engineering faculties, 25,000 engineering students, 107 MPPs, and 80,000 professional engineers.
